Susan Taylor, Legal Expert, Joins OGW as a Senior Consultant
Jim Snow | 9th March 2017Susan Taylor has expertise in a wide range of commercial law, most notably energy regulatory and transactional law. She has over 25 years’ experience assisting private and public clients in energy regulatory matters and significant commercial transactions in energy markets in more than eight countries.
For eight years she served as General Counsel and Company Secretary of AusNet Services, one of the largest diversified energy infrastructure businesses in Victoria and an ASX100 company. Prior, Susan worked for the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission in Washington DC and in private practice at US law firms. She is a
member of the New York Bar. Susan was previously a Partner of Freehills, where she played a leading role in the restructure of Victoria’s electricity and gas industries, the creation of Australia’s national electricity market, and the restructure of the electricity industries in several countries in the Asian-Pacific region, including Singapore, the Philippines and South Korea.
Susan has been ranked in the “preeminent” category of In-House Lawyers in Energy and Resources companies in Australia. She has also previously received international recognition, including the highest ranking in Chambers Global “The World’s Leading Lawyers” for energy lawyers in Australia, and inclusion in successive publications of the Asia Pacific Legal 500.Susan has also held directorships on the Boards of a number of organisations, including the subsidiary companies of AusNet Services, the St Kilda Football Club and the City of Yarra Energy Foundation.
